Within the next 12 weeks Illinois House Bill 101 is likely to come up for a vote in the Senate Executive Committee. "Of the 13 votes, we need to secure seven," reports Equality Illinois about the gay-rights measure. "Currently, we have the support of all five Democrats and need to sway just two of the eight Republicans. Once this is done, HB 101 will advance to the Senate floor where we have the votes needed for it to pass and be signed by Gov. Ryan."

Veteran's Day Event
The Chicago Chapter of Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual Veterans of America will celebrate Veteran's Day Sunday, Nov. 11 with its 9th "with liberty and justice for all" Veteran's Day Dinner at Ann Sather's, 929 W. Belmont at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Navy Chief Jim Donovan, National President of GLBVA.
The Chicago Chapter will be launching a month-long Veterans Month campaign to raise funds for the victims of the bombings of The World Trade Center and Pentagon.
