Chicago is second to none when it comes to fashion, and that has never been truer at the Chicago History Museum.Charles James: Genius Deconstructed explores the history of couturier Charles James and why nearly 40 years after his death he is still a relevant force in the world of fashion. The exhibition, featuring approximately 15 of James' most iconic designs from 1928 - 1958, will be on display through April 16, 2012.
My Chinatown, the Museum's first-ever multimedia theater experience, features real people and real places, revealing a side of Chinatown most visitors do not see. Each performance runs 20 minutes with an intermission, rotating between highlighted artifacts on stage, personal recordings on video and sounds of the iconic neighborhood. Out in Chicago has explored a largely uncharted part of our shared past and is now coming to a triumphant end. The exhibition explores 150 years of urban history through the lens of gender, sexuality, and nonconformity using four themesindividuals and their bodies, family and home, communities and political action to present the city's diverse LGBT history. Out in Chicago is part of a continuing series about the city's communities. Make sure to visit this acclaimed exhibition before it closes on March 26, 2012.

The Chicago History Museum, a major museum and research center for Chicago and American history, is located at 1601 N. Clark Street. The Museum can be reached by CTA buses 11, 22, 36, 72, 151, and 156. Parking is conveniently located one block north of the Museum at Clark and LaSalle Streets ( enter on Stockton Drive ) . Admission to the Museum is $14 for Adults with audio tour, $12 for Seniors and Students with audio tour and free for Children 12 years and younger.
