This little piggy's going to Marketdays, as I suspect will all of you darling barnyard creatures. So much to see, so much to do. If you wanna see me ( and perhaps, if the mood is right, do me ) stop by Cocktail on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and get dunked in their dunking booth, all to benefit Equality Illinois. I know that several readers have expressed a certain wetness from reading my column. Now I can get you wet for a good cause.
I will be taking over for Miss Foozie, who is slated to do a marathon eight hours of dunking booth duty on Saturday and another four on Sunday. That girl's gonna need to get off her feet!
And how nice was it to see her both on and off her feet ( and on the feet of this one dude with cute shoes ) at minibar for Chicago Pride's member appreciation party. Matthew, Bill and Steve could not be nicer guys if they tried. They made it a truly special event that I was proud to be invited to. And the gift bag was the icing on the cake. I don't know spit about wine ( or spit from wine, for that matter ) but the bottle from Kafka that was included is, I suspect, a very classy choice. Thanks again guys!
Can't you just sink your teeth into the cover boy this week? His name is Yandris West and he is the first runner-up for Mr. Windy City Continental 2008, thrown at The Baton this past Monday night. After snapping this shot of Yandris, I was really rooting for him to win. No harm to the winner, Mr. Brandon Thomas, but, come on, that pic of Yandris was too good NOT to be on the cover.
Look for Brandon to represent Chicago in the Mr. Continental pageant at The Park West August 31 - September 1.
The Flesh Hungry Dog Show at Jackhammer was packed to the gills ( do dogs have gills? ) this past Friday. The Joans, of whom I am the number one fan, did not disappoint as they trotted out their now eleven-song-long catalog of camp. But, boy can they rock!
A quick happy birthday to DJ Greg Haus from Berlin. I was in just long enough to pry him away from the booth to get a few shots. Greg, seriously, you'll need to teach me how you take all those supercool pictures. I'm in awe.
