— Out.com reports that the Norwegian Department of Infectious Diseases has reported an outbreak of sexually transmitted hepatitis A among gay men in the country. One hundred fifty cases have been reported in the country from Jan. 1 through Oct. 18, up from 52 cases during the same period in 2003. About 46% of the cases were determined to be due to sexual transmission between gay men; 51 of the 69 cases among gay men were reported in Oslo.
— Here's a holiday eating tip: Try angel food cake. According to Healthdiscovery.net, it contains little or no fat and can make a great dessert when served with fruits such as strawberries, raspberries or a fresh fruit salad.
— The government reports that the average American man is 5' 9-1/2' tall and weighs 191 pounds while the standard female is 5' 4" tall and weighs 164.3 pounds. However, in the early 1960s, the average man was 5' 8' and 166.3 pounds while the average woman was 5' 3' and 140.2 pounds. Experts cite more fast food, more television, and less exercise for the additional poundage.
— You don't have to be as miserable at your job as you might be. The Lancet reports that placing those ultraviolet lights in office-building ventilation systems made workers feel better; they reported a 25-percent decline in watery eyes and noses.
— Here's another reason that breakfast is the most important meal of the day: Your morning meal is the most crucial when it comes to losing weight. University of California at Berkeley scientists found that people who ate a grain-based breakfast had a lower body-mass index than those munching on bacon and eggs.
