LOS ANGELES (September 30, 2012) Doug Spearman who starred as Professor Chance Counter in the LOGO television series Noah's Arc makes his feature directorial debut with a movie no one's attempted before; an action/comedy/noir with two gay characters at the center of it. Hot Guys With Guns, the first feature produced under The Ogden Group Entertainment banner revolves around an actor named Danny and his ex-boyfriend, Pip who find themselves sucked deeper in to crime spree that's taking aim directly at the gay guys that run Hollywood, otherwise known as the Velvet Mafia. The film stars Marc Samuel as Danny Lohman and Brian McArdle as Patrick "Pip" Armstrong. Spearman also teams up with his former Noah's Arc co-star Darryl Stephens (currently starring in LOGO's newest scripted series LADT) who takes the role of Tim in HGWG. Hot Guys With Guns is part Chinatown, part Boys Town or The Third Man if the first two guys were dating.
Social media has played a huge part in getting the word out about this film. The Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/hotguyswithguns helped drive potential audience, distributors, and supporters to the site used to crowd source most of the film's financing. The film has an active campaign page on www.indiegogo.com/hotguyswithguns which has generated a lot of positive buzz as well as financial support.
At a time when gay themed films are either few and far between Spearman decided to reach out to an audience that gets little attention from the majors with what he calls a "popcorn" movie; the kind of film all audiences can gravitate to, but with a twist on the buddy comedy/boy-girl action formula. Hot Guys With Guns is being produced by Kelly Jones, Suzan Jones, and Eric Mittleman. The main title theme music is being composed by 10-time Grammy nominated, 6-time winner, Mervyn Warren who also did the music for such films as Do The Right Thing, The Wedding Planner, and The Blind Side. The film is schedule to wrap production in early November.

HOT GUYS WITH GUNS — Synopsis.
Danny Lohman is an actor on a quest. He wants a job, desperately, on a Crime And Punishment. His favorite show is going to re-cast the lead, a salty, renegade of a private investigator. Danny, being the good method actor that he is will do whatever it takes to prepare for his big break. Including taking a night class at Santa Monica Junior College in becoming a Private Investigator.
The funny thing is, Danny's actually good at it. His teacher, a former PI himself, who's been around and seen it all, Jimmy Peppicelli is deeply disappointed that his best student is only busting his ass to make it on the small screen.
Danny's PI homework includes spying on his recently ex-boyfriend, Pip Armstrong. Pip is a beautiful, popular party boy born and reared in Beverly Hills. Currently Pip is living in the pool house on his mother's estate.
And that's exactly where his mother, Patricia Armstrong Van Allen wants him. Where she can keep an eye on her only chic and keep him away from Danny. After all, it's she who holds the strings to the family trusts, and with a few well-meaning words broke Danny and Pip up.
Pip and Danny stumble quite literally into an opportunity to show off Danny's detective skills when Pip finds himself the victim of a robbery. One neither he, nor any of the other men who were robbed can report. See, someone's come up with an ingenious plan to rip off A-list sex parties in and around Hollywood. Careers, marriages, contracts, and reputations would disappear like the mist over the Pacific if any one opened their mouths.
Pip looses his father's antique Rolex and pleads with Danny to help him get it back. Reluctantly the two team up and discover that it's more than a watch they're going after.
Under Jimmy's tutelage in the finer points of pointing a gun, talking to informers, and out-running the cops and the bad guys, Danny and Pip actually come out on top. After all, they're Hot Guys With Guns.
