Frontrunners/Frontwalkers Chicago is celebrating its 23rd anniversary. It was established in the summer of 1982 after the success of the first Gay and Lesbian Pride Run ( Proud To Run ) in Chicago.
They meet Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. and Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Totem Pole in Lincoln Park near Addison. They meet rain or shine year round.
The walkers take a course of 1-2 miles. The pace varies, but most tend to walk casually. The runners usually go 3-5 miles.
Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just getting started, Frontrunners/Frontwalkers Chicago can support your walking or running needs.
Many members enjoy the camaraderie and find that it keeps them walking or running regularly. After the run/walk, they go to a nearby, modestly priced restaurant. New members are encouraged to come.
