Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Ezra Hendrickson said of goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, "He came up with another great performance again. I think that's his 11th, maybe 12th shutout this year. So you know, we know that he's a good goalkeeper, and has been good all year for us. So we're happy to have him."

Chicago White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease came within one out of his first career no-hitter, and the streaking South Siders (67-66) pounded the Minnesota Twins (67-64) 13-0 in Chicago.
Luis Arraez, who leads the American League with a .318 average, then dumped a line-drive single into right-center on a 1-1 pitch, ending Cease's bid for Chicago's third no-hitter in as many years, per ESPN. Lucas Giolito threw a no-hitter against Pittsburgh in 2020, and Carlos Rodón did it against Cleveland on April 14, 2021.
