On Aug. 21, 7-9:30 p.m., Chicago Humanities Festival and local partners from Sisters in Cinema, South Side Home Movie Project and the Chicago South Side Film Festival will host a conversation about the development of community-based film resources and infrastructure on the South Side.
Panelists will also discuss how Chicago's film scene is evolving to particularly support local women and non-binary Black and Brown artists. This event will feature a screening of short works reflecting the vibrancy of film culture of Chicago's South Side.
Participants will include Michelle Kennedy, the founder/co-producer/executive director of the Chicago South Side Film Festival; Yvonne Welbon, an award-winning filmmaker and founder/CEO of the Chicago-based non-profit Sisters in Cinema; and archivist/project manager Justin D. Williams.
People can register for this free event at airtable.com/shrxFlbsnWHBqzkXZ. Upon registration, attendees will receive program details and reminders via email closer to the event. |
