Statement from the organization:
It is with great regret that I inform you that Lorde, Rustin & Bates (LRB) has postponed the Art & Soul Salon and Sneaker Gala scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 to a new date scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Theater on the Lake located at 2401 North Lake Shore Drive at 7 p.m.
We are postponing for several reasons:
As a new organization, we are concerned about the weather pattern; the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic , related to Omnicron and the uptick in recent deaths in our community; issues with our ticket system EveryAction; and the recent death of the patriarch of the Galloway family, Curtis Galloway, Jr., making our President and Senior Managing Director unavailable to attend the event. For these reasons, we have made the critical decision for the success of the organization and to prioritize our initial decision for hosting the event, to raise operating dollars was to postpone. New ticket links will be available by close of business today.
In advance, thank you for your understanding and it is our hope that as a result of us making this decision it will bring more people into the organization. We will welcome the following entertainers for our new date:
Terisa Griffin
Jahari "The Hippie"
Chevelle Brooks
Dymond Carrington Valentino
Kenyotta "KenChris" Stewart
Ruff N Stuff
Otis Mack
Youth Empowerment Performance Project (YEPP)
Please check out our website at www.fahrenheitchicago.art or lorderustinbates.org for more information beginning Friday, Feb. 4 by 12 noon. Thank you and our apologies for any inconveniences this delay may have caused.
