In an increasingly contentious divorce, Anne Heche has fired back at estranged husband Coley Laffoon, saying, among other things, that he lets their five-year-old son, Homer, play poker, according to AuburnPub.com . In a document she recently filed, Heche also said that Laffoon is a liar and is not a proper parent. Heche wants at least temporary sole custody of Homer while she films the TV show Men in Trees in Canada.
Actress Sharon Stone helped raise more than $7 million for AIDS research at a Cannes Film Festival gala, according to IMDB.com . Among the attendees at the event, which benefitted The Foundation For Aids Research, included Matt Damon, Naomi Campbell and Ivana Trump.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Ty Pennington has been sentenced to three years of probation and has been fined $1,500 for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to People.com . Pennington, 42, pled no contest to driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or higher. In a statement, he said, in part, that 'drinking and driving is never acceptable. ... I hope this experience can help others as much as it has helped me.'
Charles Nelson Reilly, a Tony winner who was also known as a game-show guest, has passed away at the age of 76 of complications from pneumonia, according to the Los Angeles Times. ( In addition to appearing on game shows like Match Game, Reilly was on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 97 times. ) Reilly is survived by his longtime companion, Patrick Hughes.
In the wake of Jordin Sparks' win on American Idol on May 23, judge Simon Cowell said that finalist Melinda Doolittle should have won, according to ABC News. 'I said Melinda should've won,' Cowell said. 'She tried the hardest, was consistently the best and had the best voice.' He also said, among other things, that Kelly Clarkson is the best singer Idol has ever had.
Actress Keira Knightley has settled a lawsuit against the Daily Mail, a British tabloid, after she accused the publication of suggesting that she lied about suffering from anorexia, IMDB.com reported. She settled for $6,000, and will give the money to charity. |
