( CHICAGO ) Cynthia Plaster Caster, best known for her work as an artist and iconic status as a rock n' roll groupie, has declared her bid for mayor in Chicago's upcoming election.

The only child from a working class family on the city's southside, the Chicago native was inspired to make the foray into politics when Mayor Richard Daley announced he would not seek re-election.
"As entertaining as Chicago politics have become ( making it a great place to have a good laugh! ) , there is now an outstanding opportunity to make a much needed and substantial change at City Hall," says Ms. Plaster Caster.
While she has not held office or aspired to become part of the process before, the distress of seeing her native city and state in bankruptcy has moved Ms. Plaster Caster to engage in helping to bring back a sense of order to the city.
"I am not a politician, I am an everyday citizen that is sick and tired of seeing the problems of our city escalate," says Ms. Plaster Caster. "Our city requires a leader who is willing to focus more on the needs the people and less on politics! I am participating to ensure that as your next mayor I WILL put the needs of the people above the need to be politically correct."
Hard times require the hard truth and action. Ms. Plaster Caster's candidacy addresses the issues of better public education, crime, terrorist attack prevention, and, ending unbalanced, excessive spending.
"Enough whitewashing the streets of Chicago in areas where people are jobless and hungry and put that money into giving a helping hand, not a handout, to those in need. Chicago should be pretty on the inside too."
The well being of the people and city of Chicago is the paramount reason Ms. Plaster Caster has decided to become involved. "It has the best people in the world. Big shoulders with real culture. That's my kind of town."
