I Sailed With Magellan, Victory Gardens at the Biograph, through July 15. The best moments in this adaptation of Stuart Dybek's short stories belong to playwright Claudia Allen, but even so, there's so much good stuff that you'll want to see it twice. MSB

Mirror of the Invisible World, Goodman Theatre through July 29. Director/adapter Mary Zimmerman revisits and enlarges a work she first created a decade ago, summoning exotic Indo-Persian imagery in a poetic adaptation of classical Persian love literature. JA
