Comedy Cares is a nonprofit fundraising organization that uses comedy as a source of revenue for programs/individuals in need of help. Founded and hosted by Ever Mainard, this event will raise revenue for the Broadway Youth Center and the services it provides.
The Broadway Youth Center is a program of Howard Brown Health Center and our community partners, offering comprehensive services to youth, ages 12-24 including a safe space for young people experiencing homelessness.
The Broadway Youth Center offers extensive services to homeless youths including: drop in services that allow individuals to get something to eat, an extensive resource advocacy providing shelter, clothing vouchers, household set up, and laundry. Broadway Youth Center also has ongoing drop in programs specialized in developing youths in the forms of workshops, support groups, and youth led workshops as well as STD/HIV testing and medical services.
Known for her podcast Dates with Ever and as a member of the Chicago Underground, the show will be hosted by Ever Mainard and includes an amazing line up of the best talent in Chicago .
The lineup includes: Lisa Laureta (the people under the stairs) Kelsie Huff (the Kates, Bruiser, Boulder international Fringe festival) Bill Cruz (host of Gutter Mouth open mic) Ryan Walker, Gwen Laroka(winner of last loca standing) Adam Burke (host of Coles Open Mic, Chicago Underground) Caitlin Bergh (Cameron Esposito's Side Mullet Nation), Amy Sumpter (the Kates) and Jeff Gandy.
