Columbia College Chicago is gearing up for their annual two-day event devoted to gender idenity.
The event will feature keynote speakers, panels, performance and a film screening.
Gaylesbiantransfagdykequeer: Naming Desire and Identity in Media, a film screening and dialogue, will take place April 25, 6-8:30 p.m. at Columbia's Film Row Cinema, 1104 S. Wabash, 8th floor. The even is free and open to the public.
On April 26, a community dialogue featuring lesbian comedian Marga Gomez, gay performance artist Matthew Hollis and transdyke writer and performer Ryka Aoki de La Cruz, will take place 3:30-5:30 at Film Row Center. Later that day, a 'performance spectacle' will take place from 8-11 p.m. at the Conaway Center ( 1104 S. Wabash, 1st floor ) . The event features performances by Gomez, Hollis, Aoki de La Cruz, as well as local performers such as Avery R. Young, Nikki Patin and more. Tickets are $10, or $5 for students/seniors.
