City resolution salutes 11th annual Ride for AIDS Chicago

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago City Council passed a resolution on June 25, recognizing the participants and volunteers in the 11th Annual Ride for AIDS Chicago ( RFAC ) for their commitment to raising awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS services in Chicagoland. Organized by the not-for-profit Test Positive Awareness Network ( TPAN ), the two-day, 200-mile Ride for AIDS Chicago raised nearly $2.5 million in its first decade, and has a goal of raising $1 million during this year's event July 12 and 13. Funds benefit TPAN and partnering agencies which provide vital testing, medical resources and counseling for people with HIV/AIDS. The City Council Resolution was introduced by 33rd Ward Ald. Debra Mell, 30th Ward Ald. Ariel Reboyras ( who will be participating in the ride ), 44th Ward Ald. Thomas Tunney, and 25th Ward Ald. Daniel Solis.
