Chicago Triathlon marks 40th anniversary on Aug. 26-27

Chicago will host one of the largest urban triathlons in the world, the Life Time Chicago Triathlon, on Aug. 26-27 as the event marks its 40th anniversary.

Approximately 8,000 participants will take part in the event, which entails two days of racing and has something for everyone. It offers athletes three different distance races, including a kids triathlon event. The SuperSprint and the Kids Tri will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26; the main races, the Sprint and International races, will take place on Sunday, Aug. 27.

The races start in the heart of downtown Chicago, with a protected harbor swim; a multi-level, traffic-free ride on iconic Lake Shore Drive; and a through the Museum Campus and the Lake Front Path.
