Despite having a losing record (17-22), the Chicago Sky are in the playoffs for the fifth consecutive time.
Kahleah Copper scored 20 points, Marina Mabrey added 19 and the Chicago Sky clinched the last playoff spot with a 92-87 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 8 at Wintrust Arena.
Chicago's win eliminated the Los Angeles Sparks while Minnesota (19-20) dropped into a tie for the fifth seed with Atlanta with one game remaining. The season will conclude Sunday, Sept. 10, with Chicago, now the eighth seed, playing at Connecticut while Minnesota goes to Indiana.
The Sky will face the top-seeded and defending champion Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the playoffs.
