Up to 2,000 participants—a record number of individuals—are expected to convene at Chicago's Hyatt Regency, 151 E. Wacker, on Sept. 13–16 for the 16th Annual Out & Equal Workplace Summit.
The summit brings together LGBT employees, straight allies and human resource and diversity professionals to share best practices, essential education and resources to address current workplace shifts that affect the LGBT community and to promote safe and equitable workplaces.
The event offers strategic workshop categories that include general education, employee resource group effectiveness, organizational culture and global influence, etc. Topics range from introductory workshops addressing 'basics' such as domestic-partner benefits to advanced topics like writing transgender-supportive corporate policies.
The line-up of keynote speakers at the summit includes actor and activist George Takei ( Star Trek ) ; entertainment industry powerhouse Nina Jacobson, former president of Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group; author Richard Florida ( Rise of the Creative Class ) ; and artist-communicator Yolanda King, daughter of Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King.
For information, including how to register online, visit www.outandequal.org/summit/2006 or call 415-694-6500. |
