The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture…
WHAT:
Presents Chicago Gives, an exhibition featuring a variety of small-scale organizations that use culturally based actions to accomplish broad social good by employing a combination of traditional business and philanthropic practices. The more than 15 groups represented promote job training, life skills, community development, healthy living, urban agriculture/community gardening, reading, cultural literacy, art appreciation and more through direct involvement with constituents in need of services and the community at large. The exhibit will feature information about each group through images or products highlighting their efforts.
Participating organizations include Inspiration Café, World Bicycle Relief, Open Books, NeighborSpace, People's Music School, Streetwise, Angelic Organics, National Public Housing Museum, Project Onward, Street Level Youth Media, First Slice, Public Media Institute, Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance and more.
