On Monday, June 20, the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame will begin its 2011 fundraising efforts with its annual Pride and Joy Reception from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. atCircuit Night Club, 3641 N. Halsted Street. Tickets are $20 and available from members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, from Hall of Fame inductees, and at the door at Circuit.
The evening will feature a buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres. The 2010 Hall of Fame exhibit will be on display, and nomination forms for 2011 inductions will be available. Entertainment will be provided by members of the Circuit Night Club cast.
Money raised from this event will be used to cover the expenses of the 2011 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, at the Chicago Cultural Center. The ceremony is free and open to the public. In addition, a portion of these funds will be earmarked to support the Hall of Fame's Web site ( www.GLHallofFame.org ).

The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is privately funded through generous donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and fundraisers such as the Pride and Joy Reception. Staff support is provided by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, members of its Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, and volunteers. Chicago is the only known municipality that honors its LGBT residents in this manner. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to individuals and organizations but also documents the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities' heritage and diversity through its annual publication and its Web site ( www.GLHallofFame.org ).
