The Chicago Bears are hiring Jennifer King as an offensive assistant, according to The Chicago Sun-Times and other media outlets.
She will be an assistant running backs coach. Kingwho will become the first female assistant coach in Bears historyspent the last four seasons as the Washington Commanders assistant running backs coach. In the process, she became the first Black female coach in NFL history.
King was the head women's basketball coach at Johnson & Wales before joining the Alliance of American Football's Arizona Hotshots as an assistant receivers coach in 2019. She was a Carolina Panthers intern that summer before working as an offensive assistant coach at Dartmouth College in the fall.
During 2006-17, Kinga graduate of Guilford College (bachelor's degree) and Liberty University (master's)played with the Women's Football Alliance, playing the positions of quarterback and wide receiver for the Carolina Phoenix, NBC Sports noted. She also played for the New York Sharks and the D.C. Divas.
