Supporting the LGBT community, Center on Halsted held its Oscar party once again this year.
On March 2 at Park West, a viewing party was held on massive television screens for a packed house. "On the Red Carpet" had guests posing in a photo booth, dancing to tunes by DJ Moose, and bidding on a silent auction with packages including Lollapalooza VIP passes, Blue Man Group tickets and a dinner at Big Jones restaurant. Food was served buffet-style, with snacks and bottles of champagne on reserved tables.

Center on Halsted board member Marcus Brady and CEO Modesto "Tico" Valle made announcements before the showing, explaining that this major fundraiser grew out of a living room into a huge venue that now raises large amounts of money crucial for the facility's valuable programs.
The crowds screamed when Channing Tatum took the podium during the award show and clapped for Jared Leto's speech defending the underdog.
Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres kept the evening light with humor and there were plenty of selfies at this fundraiser to compete her hilarious moment.
Gayer than ever, the Academy Awards had friends of Dorothy singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and everything came up Pink!
Visit www.centeronhalsted.org for upcoming events such as the annual Human First Gala on March 29.
