CHICAGO, February 13, 2024 — The Chicago Gay Men's Chorus proudly presents Lipstick & Lyrics: Forty & Foxy, a dazzling, live-singing drag show that celebrates the sensuality and empowerment of middle age. Get ready to unleash your inner diva at the most sensational drag show of the year! This spectacular event is set to take the stage at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St., on Saturday, February 24, 2024; Friday, March 1, 2024; and Saturday, March 2, 2024, with two performances each night at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

This drag extravaganza features 20 performers, including 18 fabulous queens, two charismatic kings, one special guest performer, and a squad of electrifying dancers. Forty & Foxy is a unique and exhilarating experience that combines the vocal talents of Chicago Gay Men's Chorus members with the glamor and charisma of their drag personas. This year's theme revolves around embracing and celebrating the sexiness that comes with turning 40, promising a night filled with laughter, marvelous costumes, and unforgettable music.

The stage will sizzle with iconic hits, including a nod to the Queen of Disco with electrifying Donna Summer tunes. Audiences will be transported to the world of empowerment and self-discovery as the performers belt out "I'm Changing" and pay homage to the legendary Jimi Hendrix with a sultry rendition of "Foxy Lady."

CGMC Artistic Director James Morehead is at the helm of the show, rehearsing and getting the show ready for the stage. "I guarantee you will laugh, you will cheer and you might even tear up a little," said Morehead.

CGMC's shows highlight how drag serves as an integral part of the community's artistic palette, providing a means for individuals to explore uncharted facets of their personalities through costumes and makeup. Morehead emphasizes the supportive and inclusive nature of the CGMC drag world saying, "Everyone is super supportive and part of the team." In this way, drag becomes a powerful vehicle for self-discovery, fostering unity, and celebrating diverse voices within the community.

Join us for a night of celebration as CGMC embraces the beauty of 40 years and redefines the meaning of fabulous! Let our drag performers take you on a journey of self-expression, empowerment, and pure entertainment. Brace yourself for high-energy performances that will have you on the edge of your seat!

ABOUT CHICAGO GAY MEN'S CHORUS

The Chicago Gay Men's Chorus (CGMC) has been an integral part of Chicago's cultural and gay communities since 1983. For more than three decades, the chorus has entertained audiences across the continent with innovative musical programming exploring everything from love to politics to the sometimes fabulous, sometimes challenging world of being gay; often all at the same time. Our always-memorable performances have included original musical revues; full-length book musicals; traditional choral concerts and intimate cabaret presentations; all punctuated with our signature joyous irreverence. Chicago Gay Men's Chorus was inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 2001.
