—Prenuptial agreements are not just for heterosexual couples. According to GFN.com, same-sex couples need domestic-partnership contracts even more than their opposite-sex counterparts; the division of assets can be tricky, especially since almost every state lacks judicial protection regarding such matters ( for gay couples ) . The contract should cover everything from asset division to health-care decisions.
—The OUT Traveler has come out with its list of the top gay-friendly hotel companies. Kimpton Hotels came in at number one—partially because of the face that it has scored a perfect 100 in the Human Rights Campaign's Equality Index for four consecutive years. Other companies making the list include W Hotels, Hyatt, Red Carnation and Joie de Vivre.
—The Chicagoland Affiliate of Out & Equal meets for breakfast 9-11 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month at the Lucky Platter, 514 Main, Evanston. See www.outandequal.org/affiliates/chicago/default.asp for more. |
