"He better not be," King said Feb. 22. "Hags has got to stay here. You can't. I mean, that's me. But King's wishes couldn't outweigh what the Tampa Bay Lightning was willing to pay for Hagel in a March 18 deal: two top-10 protected first-round picks and two rookie forwards, Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk. Chicago Fire FC (2-0-2) defeated Sporting Kansas City (1-3-0) 3-1 at Soldier Field on March 19 to stay undefeated.
Forward Kacper Przybyłko scored a brace (two goals), while designated player Xherdan Shaqiri also tallied his first career goal and first two assists for the Fire.
With the win, the Fire moved into second place in the Eastern Conference, with the team picking up the most points (eight) through the first four games of a season since 2009.
Following the FIFA international break next weekend, the Fire will return to league play Saturday, April 2, when the team hosts FC Dallas at Soldier Field. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT, the match against Dallas will be nationally televised on Univision, TUDN and Twitter (English audio).
In Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 19, Illinois' Elmhurst University Bluejays (27-7) fell to Virginia's Randolph-Macon College Yellow Jackets (33-1) 75-45 in the Division III men's national championship basketball game.
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the win gave the school its first NCAA title in any sport and completed the work started three years ago, before the pandemic began.
Junior guard Josh Talbert scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds and national player of the year Buzz Anthony added 14 points for the Yellow Jackets, whose only loss this season was an overtime setback to Christopher Newport in November. Lavon Thomas led the Bluejays with 10 points and eight rebounds.
