The anti-gay Illinois Family' Institute is holding a rally at a Black church to drum up Black support for discrimination in marriage.
Supporters of gay rights are gathering Saturday, March 18 at 9 a.m. at Broadview Baptist Church for an educational counter-demonstration
'Join us as we stand up for justice in the African American community as Black Same Gender Loving, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people, and our supporters,' organizers stated. They also noted that 61% of Black female same-sex households are raising children, and 46% of Black male same-sex households are raising children. ( Source: 2000 Census )
