( Skokie, IL ) Three Cat Productions celebrates the birthday of the legendary Barbra Streisand with the third annual "Bab Fab: The Barbra Streisand Birthday Celebration". It kicks off on April 23rd with a Streisand connoisseur Matt Howe, and then continues with two great performances of Streisand's work on April 24th and 25th. All performances can be found at the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation. A portion of the proceeds benefit BEHIV and Three Cat Education.
On on April 23rd, 2010 at 8pm, join Streisand connoisseur Matt Howe ( creator of the barbra-archives.com ) and special guest vocalists, as Howe takes us through an audio-visual presentation of Barbra's illustrious career. Howe's passion for the life and career of Streisand has not only inspired him to create one of the most thorough informational websites on Barbra but has gained the respect and admiration of several of Barbra's creative associates, top people in the entertainment industry and Barbra herself!
"Bab Fab" will continue on April 24th at 8pm and April 25th at 2pm with A Barbra Streisand Musical Celebration. This performance will cover Streisand's fantastic musical career, from her early days in Greenwich Village to her incredible rise to super stardom. Rob Dorn, with accompanist Kevin Disch, escorts audiences through a Streisand musical timeline assisted by some of Chicago's leading cabaret and musical theater talent, including Amy Cole, Elizabeth Dowling, Hilary Ann Feldman, Laura Freeman, Scott Gryder, Beckie Menzie, Tom Michael, Marianne Murphy Orland, Jason Paul Smith, Melissa Young and more!
"Bab Fab" has been Time Out Chicago recommended, and Cabaret Scene called it a "remarkable showcase" of Streisand's career.
A portion of all BabFab proceeds will benefit BeHIV and Three Cat Education. BeHiv's mission is to improve the lives of people with HIV and AIDS in the communities it serves through a comprehensive range of quality services, to inform the public about the virus and risk reduction behavior, and to increase understanding and compassion for people with HIV and AIDS. Three Cat Education's mission is to excite children and teens about the world of theater.
