DR. KEITH SHARPE
Monday, October 3 at 6:00 p.m.
British author Dr. Keith Sharpe discusses and signs his book, The Gay Gospels: Good News for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered People. In his new book, Dr. Sharpe discusses his view that there is no biblical condemnation of homosexuality and shows how the usually-cited texts demonizing gay people are incorrect. He further argues that both the Old and New Testaments provide references of gay lives, identities and relationships. Presented by the Chicago Public Library's Pride Heritage Committee.
During the month of October, the Chicago Public Library presents a combination of interesting author discussions as the Library continues its free Author Series, as well as the 10th anniversary of One Book, One Chicago and its 21st selection, The Adventures of Augie March by Saul Bellow. All events listed take place at the Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St., in the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium (Lower Level) unless otherwise noted.
