Aug. 10, 2021 (CHICAGO)Alphawood Foundation announced the retirement of Executive Director Jim McDonough, effective Oct. 1.
McDonough has served as Executive Director of the Foundation since 2012. He will continue in his role as legal counsel to the Foundation and its subsidiary Alphawood Exhibitions LLC until next year to assist in an orderly transition to new leadership. Beginning immediately, the Board of Directors of Alphawood Foundation will conduct a comprehensive search for a new Executive Director. "Serving as Executive Director of Alphawood has been the honor of a lifetime and for that I offer my profound thanks to my peers and colleagues, our board of directors, and Alphawood's founder and moving force, Fred Eychaner," said McDonough. "The foundation is on solid ground to continue its important work in and around Chicago supporting the arts, preservation and progressive social advocacy. I'm confident whoever is selected to lead this organization will have the enthusiastic support of the Alphawood family and the community.
