The Joint Conference of the American Society on Aging ( ASA ) and the National Council on the Aging ( NCOA ) will take place March 10-13 in Philadelphia. The meeting will include sessions that address the needs of LGBT people who are over the age of 50.
Also, some networking events will center around the Lesbian and Gay Aging Issues Network, one of the ASA's constituent groups.
Sessions that deal with LGBT aging will encompass a number of issues, including retirement housing; law and public policy; mental health; and caregiving. There will also be a special program, 'HIV/AIDS and the Older Adult,' on Mar. 12.
