Dr. Renslow Sherer, one of the founders of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, was among more than 1,100 people who helped mark the agency's 20th anniversary last weekend at the Hilton. AFC Executive Director Mark Ishaug gave a powerful speech about the impact of the AIDS epidemic on the world today. Awards were given to two other agency's also marking their 20th years—Chicago House and AIDS Pastoral Care Network. The Pointer Sisters gave an amazing performance of many of their top hits, and stated their own passion for fighting this disease. |
