Welcome to the 2009 Windy City Times Primary Election Guide. With more than 20 candidates from three different parties ( Democratic, Republican and Green ) battling for the Fifth Congressional District seat, this election year is intriguing, to say the least.
Since Windy City Times is focusing on only one race, we are able to present items we normally would omit. Not just the chart with Windy City Times' questionnaire scores but the questionnaire itself is at www.windycitymediagroup.com/gay/lesbian/news/ARTICLE.php?AID=20388
. In addition, there is the map ( above on this page ) of the Fifth Congressional District—because not everyone who has seen the political commercials on television or heard them on the radio will be able to vote.
Interviews with five candidates are included in this week's issue, some in print and all online. Two other interviews, with State Reps. Sara Feigenholtz and John Fritchey, ran last week in Windy City Times and can be found at www.windycitymediagroup.com/gay/lesbian/news/ARTICLE.php and at www.windycitymediagroup.com/gay/lesbian/news/ARTICLE.php?AID=19998
Again, please do not forget to vote Tuesday, March 3 ( and during the April 7 general election ) ; everyone's voice deserves to be heard. And please feel free to take the chart into the voting booth with you.
Note: Windy City Times does not endorse candidates.
