Carolyn Caizzi is a queer pornographer, filmmaker and sex educator whose work has been shown in both national and international film festivals. Originally from Providence, R.I., Carolyn began her filmmaking career as an undergraduate at Brown University where she received her bachelor's in art semiotics. She recently received her master's degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is presently pursuing a master's of library and information science at UI-Urbana-Champaign.
Carolyn's first short narrative film, 'Camouflage Pink,' was most notably screened at the Women in the Director's Chair, Newfest and Frameline film festivals, and received acclaim for its diverse cast and positive portrayal of queer youth. In 2003, her first adult film, 'Turn Me Up, Over and On,' won Fatale Media's Real Lesbian Sex contest and is now distributed worldwide.
This year, Carolyn co-founded Early to Bed Productions with Searah Deysach. She directed and edited their first lesbian adult film, 'Coming Home,' which was released in March. Due to its success, she is currently hard at work on a second film. These films, featuring real-life queer lovers of diverse races, ages and body types, aim to dismantle the unrealistic representations of lesbians in mainstream adult films.
DID YOU KNOW? Carolyn collects Barbies and dildos and has over 36 of each.
