—This November, BK Park, chef/owner of Juno, will open his passion project, Mako, at 731 W. Lake St. Mako, the fastest breed of shark, is named for what chef BK believes sushi chefs should aspire to be: quick, sharp and instinctual. —The new Bucktown restaurant from the owner and chef at Luella's Southern Kitchen should open this week, Eater Chicago noted. Luella's Gospel Bird will feature fried chicken from Darnell Reed as Reed opens his second restaurant. The opening date is slated to be Wed., Nov. 7, at 2009 N. Damen Ave., according to Reed.

—Hakka Bakka Indian Kati Rolls is now open, serving Indian street food in the West Loop at 1002 W Lake St. This is Hakka Bakka's second restaurant as the original location opened in Lincoln Park near DePaul in 2015, courtesy of husband-and-wife owners Kaushik Guha and Swetha Jalan.

—LuxeHome will present CHILL, an International Wine & Culinary Event on Thursday, Nov. 8. The gourmet celebration, in cooperation with Wine Spectator Magazine, will take place within the ambiance of LuxeHome, the world's largest collection of premier boutiques, on the first floor of theMART ( 222 W. —Perry's Steakhouse & Grille ( 5 Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook, Illinois; 630-571-1808 ) will be thanking veterans and active military this Veteran's Day, Sunday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 9 p.m. As a token of appreciation, the popular steakhouse is offering a complimentary Rare and Well Done three-course Sunday Supper ( value $34.95 ) to each veteran when dining with a paying guest who purchases the Sunday Supper or a dinner entree.

—Ramen-san is heading to Streeterville ( 676 N. Saint Clair St. ) to offer its signature ramen, Express Lunch and new menu additions to the neighborhood later this month. This will be the third downtown location of the ramen shop from Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' R.J., Jerrod and Molly Melman. The menu imports classics from the River North and Fulton Market locations, like the 12-hour pork tonkotsu, Imperial vegetable broth and spicy Szechuan wings, while adding new features like a pork katsu sandwich available all day.

—Bistronomic, 840 N. Wabash Ave., will offer a special menu for Beaujolais Nouveau Day on Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 15-18. The three-course, prix fixe menu will be offered for dinner 5-10:30 p.m. for $39 per person, not including tax and gratuity. Culinary items will include house country pate, braised short ribs Bourguignon, Baked Alaska Belle Helene and more.

—Furious Spoon has announced a multi-faceted philanthropic campaign, including a partnership with Chicago Coalition for the Homeless ( CCH ) throughout November and December. The partnership kicks off the Chicago-based restaurant's #GiveFuriously initiatives and will offer an opportunity for diners, fans and followers to give back in various ways. Also, for the fourth year in a row, Furious Spoon will be giving out free bowls of ramen to those in need on Thanksgiving Day; this year the bowls will be available at the Wicker Park location.
