Grammy-winning folk icons Indigo Girls will join Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter/rocker and fellow queer legend Melissa Etheridge for several co-billed shows this August.
The tour kicks off at Ravinia at Highland Park, Illinois on Sunday, Aug. 11, and will include select Midwest and Northeast dates, followed by Indigo Girls' co-billed West Coast tour with Amos Lee.
Some of the other stops on the Indigo Girls/Etheridge tour will include St. Louis (Aug. 13); Chautauqua, New York (Aug. 16); Philadelphia (Aug. 22); and D.C. (Aug. 25).
This year will see the official release of the Indigo Girls' acclaimed film documentary, It's Only Life After All. The film has screened at major festivals across the globe, including Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Festival, SXSW, and Toronto's Hot Docs. Details will be announced soon.
The Indigo Girls' music takes center stage in another upcoming film, the jukebox musical romance Glitter & Doom. Directed by Tom Gustafson (Were the World Mine), Glitter & Doom has a star-studded queer supporting cast featuring Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson of The B-52s, RuPaul's Drag Race alum Peppermintand Indigo Girls themselves. The film was recently purchased by Music Box Films, who have announced a March 8, 2024, theatrical release in NYC and L.A. followed by a nationwide theatrical rollout and a VOD release.
Pre-sale tour tickets for Indigo Girls' fans go on sale Wed., Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local, with tickets on sale to the public on Friday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. local; all tickets are available at indigogirls.com.
