The WNBA announced that Chicago Sky veteran center Elizabeth Williams is the recipient of the 2023 Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award, per a press release.
The award is given to a player that exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship on the court, including ethical behavior, fair play and integrity. The award is named for the late Kim Perrot, who helped guide the Houston Comets to their first two WNBA championships before passing away in August 1999 after a seven-month battle with cancer.
Williamsa British-born, Nigerian-American playerreceived 15 out of 60 total votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.
On July 20, the 6'3" Williams amassed 1,500 career rebounds, becoming the ninth player in WNBA history with 2,000+ points, 1,500+ rebounds, 400+ blocks, 300+ assists and 200+ steals. She was also recently named to the 2023 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team.
