SAVOR Upcoming events, including a wine dinner and a paella fest

The upscale Mexican restaurant Tzuco, 720 N. State St., will mark its fourth anniversary and celebrate Mexican Independence Day on Friday, Sept. 15.

The event, "4 Anos, 4 Manos," will spotlight dishes by Tzuco Chef Carlos Gaytan (Mayan ceviche) as well as chefs Thierry Blouet (the snapper dish huachinango zarandeado), Angel Vazquez (chile en nogada) and Fer Prado (cotija cheesecake).

On a different note (pun intended), the casual Lake View spot D.S. Tequila will host an afterparty after the Karol G show on Friday, Sept. 15, at 11 p.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2-5 p.m., Jaleo by Jose Andres, 500 N. Clark St., will host a Paella Fest Party.

The fiesta menu will include paellas; mini-Iberico burgers; and a variety of classic Spanish tapas like croquetas, desserts and more Jaleo favorites.

The all-inclusive price of admission features beer, wine and sangria, with additional alcoholic beverages available for purchase, or choose the Paella Party and Pigtail VIP ticket, which includes upscale cocktails at Pigtail, the speakeasy below Jaleo.

Lincoln Park Zoo and the nonprofit Chicago AF are co-hosting Oksoberfest—an all-new, adults-only, non-alcoholic version of Oktoberfest—on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the zoo at 6-9 p.m.

Attendees will sample non-alcoholic beers and zero-proof craft cocktails as well as snack on traditional foods, such as wurst and jumbo soft pretzels complete with mustard flights.

Swift & Sons, 1000 W. Fulton Market, is hosting a "Bubbles Bash" wine dinner on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m., showcasing Champagnes from Charles Heidsieck alongside Italian wines by Bibi Graetz.

Chris Pandel and his team have curated a menu to complement the evening's featured bubbly pours, kicking off with a caviar amuse and following with pan-roasted scallops, roasted leg of lamb and more.

Award-winning mixologist Chris Amirault will host the Good Fortune Cocktail Pop-Up at The Violet Hour, 1520 N. Damen Ave., on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 7-11 p.m.; and at The Izakaya at Momotaro, 820 W. Lake St., on Wed., Sept. 20, at 5-10 p.m.

There will be six different cocktails to choose from, and a portion of proceeds from the pop-up will be donated to Slow Food—a global organization founded to, among other things, prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions.

Tickets are not required, but interested folks can make reservations on either restaurant's website. They will also be accepting walk-ins for the pop-ups.

Edgewater spot Mango Pickle, 5842 N. Broadway, will host its final adventure in its Itinerary series of seasonal supper and high-tea events on Sept. 22-Oct. 8.

Some of the dishes at this Indian restaurant will include cheela pancake, beefsteak tomato tartare and lime chutney; crispy braised beef, polenta and saag; and butter chicken masala, pilaf rice and a naan bite (with a fall-vegetable tikka masala alternate).
