On Oct. 12, co-authors Rick Karlin and St. Sukie de la Croix held a book-release party for their book, Last Call Chicago: A History of 1,001 LGBTQ-Friendly Taverns, Haunts & Hangouts.
Last Call Chicago is a historical account of LGBTQ+ venues in the Windy City. During the event, the authors read selections from the book. Books were available for sale and the authors signed copies.
There was a similar event at the Center on Halsted on Oct. 10.
The book's foreword is by Chicago's own Arthur Johnston and Pepin Pena, community activists and owners of Sidetrack as well as subjects of the upcoming documentary Art & Pep.
