The CW has axed the LGBTQ+-inclusive DC Arrowverse shows Batwoman and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

According to Out Magazine, Batwoman—canceled after just three seasons—introduced the world to lesbian superhero Ryan Wilder (played by bisexual actress Javicia Leslie) after she took over the mantle from fellow LGBTQ+ heroine Kate Kane (played by lesbian actress Ruby Rose) in the second season.

"Just got the sad news that Batwoman will not be seeing an S4," showrunner Caroline Dries tweeted. "I am bummed, but full of gratitude. What an honor to make 51 episodes. So many inspiring, brilliant people contributed to this series. Thank you[,] producers, cast, and crew. Thank you, fans! We love you."

The cancellation came a month after Batwoman aired its third season (and now series) finale on the network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The CW gave early renewals to seven series—All American, The Flash, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Superman & Lois, and Walker—in March.

Rose left the series after the first season, later saying they were fired after complaining about unsafe conditions on set.

As for "Legends," the show—axed after seven seasons—featured a lesbian lead character, Sara Lance/White Canary/Sarah Lance, played by Caity Lotz. Her character was in a relationship with teammate Ava (played by Jes Macallan). Lotz was the only original cast member left from season one, per Deadline.

The show also included the pansexual character John Constantine, played by Matt Ryan.

The series also co-starred Brandon Routh, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Ciara Renee and Dominic Purcell as well as LGBTQ+ actors Wentworth Miller, Keiynan Lonsdale and Victor Garber, among others.

The series finale aired March 2, according to Variety.
