On Dec. 5, the Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Chicago White Sox legend Minnie Minoso was one of four players the Golden Days Era Committee selected for induction, NBC Chicago noted.
Along with Minoso (1925-2015), former White Sox pitcher Jim Kaat was elected to Cooperstown, along with Dodgers legend Gil Hodges and Minnesota Twins star Tony Oliva.
The highlight for White Sox fans is the induction of Minoso, the first Black Cuban player in Major League Baseball history. The only player in baseball history to play in five different decades, the "Cuban Comet" racked up 195 home runs, 1,093 RBIs and 216 stolen bases in 1,946 career games.
