Stage Left Theatre announced Bobbi Masters as its new artistic director.
Masters has directed plays at theaters around the nation such as No Strings Theatre Company in Las Cruces, New Mexico (The Bald Soprano); and Kitchen Dog Theatre in Dallas (Happy Days), where she also served as an artistic associate. Her New York off-off Broadway credits include work with EBE Ensemble, Iron Jaw Productions, Theatre Rat, and Theatre for the New City.
Masters has been serving as Stage Left's literary manager, where she was responsible for the creation of a new monthly play reading series. She also teaches at City Colleges of Chicago.
"I believe that the best theater challenges us and provokes thought. There's nothing quite like that spirited discussion after a great show," Masters said in a statement.
