At Wintrust Arena on Sept. 12, the Chicago Sky lost to the Washington Mystics 79-72.
Sky center Azura Stevens scored a season-high 18 points in the Sky's loss. Earlier this season, the former first round pick had scored 15 points, her former season-high in points scored, in the Sky's Aug. 31 loss to Phoenix. Guard Allie Quigley (15 points) and forward Candace Parker (12 points) were other key contributors.
Mystics center Tina Charles scored 31 points and gathered 10 rebounds. It was her 15th career game in which she scored at least 30 points and had 10 rebounds, making her the WNBA all-time leader regarding that combination.
Approximately 4,700 fans, including the University of Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team, attended the game.
