Three 2021 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies took place Sept. 11-12and Netflix's The Queen's Gambit led the way with nine wins going into next weekend's Primetime Emmys, Deadline reported.
LGBTQ+ individuals and shows also scored several wins, especially in the reality-show categories. RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked won for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program; RuPaul's Drag Race Condragulations won for Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program; RuPaul captured the award for Host for a Reality or Competition Program; RuPaul's Drag Race Gettin' Lucky won for Directing for a Reality Program; and RuPaul's Drag Race snagged the honor for Casting for a Reality Program.
In addition, Queer Eye won for Structured Reality Program. Regarding non-reality programming, the series finale of the FX show Pose won in the Contemporary Costumes, Contemporary Hairstyling and Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic) categories.
Some of the other winners included HBO series Mare of Easttown and Lovecraft Country; Netflix show The Crown; SNL; and Netflix movie Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square.
An edited version of the Creative Arts Emmys will air Saturday, Sept. 18, on FXX. The Primetime Emmys will air live Sunday, Sept. 19, on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
