The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), on Sept. 8, added one stateVermontto its weekly COVID-19 travel advisory.
The advisory now includes every state and territory in the country, as COVID continues to surge across the country, driven by the more contagious Delta variant. Under the advisory, unvaccinated travelers should be tested for COVID before and after travel and should quarantine upon arrival in Chicago.
Vermont was the only state not on the Travel Advisory last week, but it has now surpassed 15 new COVID cases per 100,000 residents per day and joined the rest of the states, as well as the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, on the CDPH list.
Two statesNew Hampshire and Connecticutas well as the District of Columbia, have seen improvement and fallen below 15 COVID cases per 100,000 residents as of Sept. 8. If these states maintain these improved case rates, they will be removed from the Travel Advisory on Sept. 14.
