CHICAGO, IL - Media outlets are invited to cover Equality Illinois' 30th Anniversary Virtual Gala, presented by Molson Coors Beverage Company, beginning at 7 p.m. CST on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Called the "who's who of Illinois politics" by ABC News, the Equality Illinois Annual Gala is one of the preeminent LGBTQ equality events in the country. To celebrate our 30 years of advocacy and civic engagement on behalf of LGBTQ Illinoisans, our historic virtual gala this year promises an evening of purpose, civic engagement, entertainment, fun, and nostalgia.

This year, we will honor Imani Rupert-Gordon, Executive Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights and former Executive Director of Affinity Community Services in Chicago; the late United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; and the Broadway Youth Center, a program of Howard Brown Health, for their work on behalf of the LGBTQ community.

Our 30th Anniversary Gala will also feature a raffle for a trip to Bali, a silent auction for incredible packages, remarks from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, and a special performance from a surprise Grammy winning artist! It will truly be a powerful and inspiring event.

Proceeds supports the ongoing LGBTQ civil rights work of Equality Illinois Institute, which educates and advocates for the full equality of LGBTQ Illinoisans.
