GLAAD and more than 40 national LGBTQ and movement leaders have signed onto a statement calling for the removal of Pres. Trump from office: "Our nation's security and the personal security of every American is in grave danger, and we cannot afford to sustain even another day with this destructive and seditious man in the White House."
The House of Representatives has just voted 232 - 197 to impeach President Donald Trump for inciting the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol one week ago. Ten Republicans joined the majority in voting for impeachment.
GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis responded on Twitter, and here:
"The bipartisan vote to impeach Donald Trump is a necessary step toward accountability for his role in inciting deadly violence and spreading the dangerous lies and misinformation that inspired it," GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said. "The Senate must move forward in the same bipartisan manner to convict President Trump and limit his ability to inspire and incite future violence. The safety of all Americans, especially vulnerable communities, should always be a top priority, not a partisan issue."
More than 40 national LGBTQ groups have joined the GLAAD-led statement calling for the removal of Donald Trump from office:
"As LGBTQ organizations and movement leaders, we call for the immediate and unequivocal removal of Donald Trump as President of the United States via the invoking of the 25th Amendment or by impeachment if necessary. Our nation's security and the personal security of every American is in grave danger, and we cannot afford to sustain even another day with this destructive and seditious man in the White House."
