Naperville resident Jerry Harris, who starred on the reality show Cheer, was indicted on new charges Dec. 11 that alleged he coerced teenage boys to send him obscene photos and videos of themselves and solicited sex from minors at cheerleading competitions, The Chicago Tribune reported.
Harris, 21who has been held without bond since his arrest in September on child-pornography chargeswould receive a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted. Although Harris' attorneys have not yet addressed the charges directly, he has denied similar allegations made in a civil suit through a spokesperson.
The docuseries Cheer follows the competitive cheerleading squad at Navarro College, which is in Texas. Harris graduated in 2017 from Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois, and studied at Navarro.
