Chicago, IL — Personal PAC, the leading non-partisan political action committee ( PAC ) dedicated to electing pro-choice state and local officials in Illinois is excited to announce that Secretary Hillary Clinton will provide a taped address to Personal PAC supporters during its 27th Annual Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 12:00 pm ( CST ). The event will be held virtually and feature a distinguished lineup of pro-choice leaders. More than 1,000 supporters are expected to attend the virtual event, including over 100 elected officials and candidates from across the state.

"We could not be more excited about Hillary Clinton's taped address to Personal PAC supporters and activists across Illinois just 14 days before this historic election. We are deeply grateful that she stands with us as we work tirelessly to defeat anti-choice extremists and elect pro-choice leaders to defend the reproductive rights of everyone," stated Personal PAC Executive Director Terry Cosgrove. "With the Supreme Court vacancy created by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and likely overturning Roe as a result, the conversation between Heather Booth and Jane Fonda will be more timely than ever."

The event will honor civil rights activist and political strategist Heather Booth & The Jane Collective with the Irving B. Harris Spirit of Choice Award. Booth founded Chicago's Jane Collective which was an underground Chicago-based organization that helps women obtain ( then, illegal ) abortions from 1969 until abortion became legal in 1973. This significant award will be presented by actor and political activist Jane Fonda. The award presentation will include a live conversation between Booth and Fonda who will answer questions about their roles in the reproductive rights fight.

The 2020 luncheon lineup will also honor President & CEO of Planned Parenthood Arizona Bryan Howard and pro-choice activist Hon. Toi Hutchinson with the Pro-Choice Leadership Award. Howard is Board Chair of Rewire News, a must read for reproductive justice issues. He has tirelessly worked to expand access to healthcare and education. Toi Hutchinson started her activism as a clinic escort, shielding women threatened by anti-choice protesters. She went on to be a pro-choice hero in the Illinois Senate providing unforgettable testimony in defense of the 2017 HB 40 and as a co-sponsor of the 2109 Reproductive Health Act ( RHA ).

Howard's award will be presented by pro-choice activist Cecile Richards. She and Howard will also engage in a live conversation about the upcoming election. As President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America for 12 years, Richards worked to increase affordable access to reproductive health care and to build a healthier and safer world for women. Hutchinson's award will be presented by State's Attorney Kim Foxx. Foxx is committed to "ending the shame and stigma" that so many women are forced to endure by anti-choice activists and the mainstream media for exercising their basic Constitutional right to access a safe and legal abortion.

Personal PAC identifies hundreds of thousands of pro-choice voters, professionally develops direct mail and other campaign strategies to educate and motivate pro-choice voters and assembles campaign strategists to provide pro-choice candidates with the tools to win on election day. Personal PAC is a nonpartisan political action committee dedicated to protecting and advancing reproductive rights for all women by recruiting, electing, and holding accountable pro-choice candidates to state and local office in Illinois.
