Valentine's Day (and pre-Valentine's Day) restaurant and bar offerings

Here's just a sample of what Chicago restaurants and bars are offering this Valentine's Day:

—The Walk In, 2727 N. Milwaukee Ave., will have a "Spill the Tea Party" Thursday, Feb. 13, 8-11 p.m. The event will include live music by DJ LizAnne Cook, who will play an all-female set, and exclusive specialty cocktails like the Dear Diary and Safe Word. ( 773-697-6047 )

—Aya Pastry, 1332 W. Grand Ave., is selling gift boxes of hand decorated heart-shaped sugar cookies for $40/box with the option to add a custom message to one cookie using royal icing ( up to a certain number of characters ). —Lost Larson, 5318 N. Clark St., will have two seatings on Friday, Feb. 14, at 5:30 and 8 p.m. ( LostLarson.com )

—JoJo's Milk Bar, 23 W. Hubbard St., will have its JoJo's shake and JoJo's BIGGIE Hot Chocolates. Also, throughout February ( Monday-Thursday ), JoJo's will be offering a special chocolate fondue and champagne experience in honor of Valentine's Day, complete with a glass of champagne per person, plus pretzels, fruits, marshmallows and fondue to dip, in addition to 10 percent off food and drink. —Tied House, 3157 N. Southport Ave., will offer a Valentine's Day pasta dinner Feb. 13-15. Chef Ryan Carbone will prepare a four-course pasta tasting menu inspired by his youth ( $60 for the tasting, and $85 with pairings ). The regular menu will also be available. ( TiedHouseChicago.com )

—La Josie, 740 W. Randolph St., will offer a feast for groups to dine together on Friday, Feb. 14. Offerings include the pollo al horno, a roasted Amish chicken with black beans and Mexican rice ( whole/$30; half/$16 ); and the parrillada, with grilled skirt steak, chicken breast, housemade chorizo, grilled veggies and rajas poblanas ( $49; with shrimp, $57 ). —On Friday, Feb. 14, Easy Bar, 1944 W. Division Ave., will host an '80s Valentine's Night Bash at 10 p.m. featuring tunes from the '80s. Specials available all evening will include $8 Barcelona Mules made with PAU Maui vodka, ginger beer and a Meiomi wine float. ( EasyBarChicago.com )

—Two Michelin-starred spot Acadia, 1639 S. Wabash Ave., will offer a Valentine's Day dinner Feb. 13-16. Menu items include an oyster "lobster roll" with caviar; cured salmon; roasted beet, truffle puree, chocolate "soil" and frisee; wagyu beef, prawn and curry bordelaise; and flourless chocolate torte with passionfruit sorbet and candied cocoa nibs. —Diners can enjoy a romantic Valentine's Day dinner at the newly renovated Hubbard Inn, 110 W. Hubbard St., with a three-course prix fixe menu for $50 per person created by Executive Chef Eric Babula. Items include a dozen East and West Coast oysters, heart-shaped ravioli, sweet-potato gnudi, chocolate porter brownie, rose panna cotta and more. ( HubbardInn.com )

—Guests can enjoy dinner with their sweetie and indulge in a month-long Valentine's Day dessert special at Mastro's, 520 N. Dearborn St. The $18 decadent dessert features a chocolate devils food butter cake baked with a cocoa and cream cheese topping served with chocolate ice cream, and drizzled with raspberry sauce and white chocolate ganache. —In celebration of Valentine's Day, Morton's in Chicago, Naperville, Northbrook, Rosemont and Schaumburg will feature a steak-and-lobster special for $59/person on Feb. 13-16. ( mortons.com )

—Chicagoans who visit Remedy, 1910 N. Milwaukee Ave., on Valentine's Day can show their artistic talents or doodle while they drink and participate in a Valentine's Day coloring night. Remedy will provide "love" themed coloring books and coloring supplies along with candy and heart-shaped pizza ( while supplies last ).

—On Feb. 14, Truluck's ( in the Gold Coast and Rosemont ) invites guests to celebrate Valentine's Day with indulgent cuisine paired with a libations list, including a special TruLuv cocktail. Menu highlights include pan-seared scallops, a tuna tartare tower, lobscargot ( Maine lobster cooked in herb garlic butter with gruyere and Havarti ) and chocolate cake, among other items. —At Gaslight, 2450 N.
