The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will perform at the Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Ida B. Wells Dr., on March 4-8, featuring Midwest premieres and Ailey classics.
Among other items, the company will perform the Midwest premiere to three works: Ode, created by Ailey dancer and the company's first-ever Resident Choreographer, Jamar Roberts; Greenwood, Donald Byrd's ensemble work inspired by the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre; and Ounce of Faith, Darrell Grand Moultrie's ode to teachers and mentors.
Keeping with Chicago tradition, every performance ends with company founder Alvin Ailey's masterpiece Revelations.
Tickets start at $35 each, and are available at AuditoriumTheatre.org, 312-341-2300 or the Auditorium Theatre Box Office.
